I am a bright and creative graduate (BA in Education with Design and Technology), born in London and raised in Devon, England along with my four elder brothers and sisters and devoted parents. I am focused and ambitious with a contagious energy to network and maximise the personalities of pupils, and colleagues. Extensive travel and proactive sporting habits have fueled my desire to strive further, continuously stretching boundaries to the benefit of my career. I have high personal expectations giving my ‘all’ to each aspect of my life and this is demonstrated with the students I teach. I will now contribute to SCIS my firm knowledge of the education initiatives and strategies I have gained since my teaching career began in 2004. On top of this through joining SCIS I am grateful to grow my talents along side the community here by accepting additional educational responsibilities whilst teaching Visual Arts and Technical Drama.

Hello SCIS-HIS!  Originally from beautiful western Michigan, I earned my bachelor's degree in elementary education and social studies at Grand Valley State University. From there I moved to Seoul, South Korea teaching ESL and was fortunate enough to explore many of the amazing countries of Asia. Following these adventures, I moved to the very exciting country of Venezuela where I taught first and fifth grades. Looking to further my education, I earned a master's degree in international teaching from Framingham State University. My passions within the classroom include: creating nurturing learning environments, educating the whole child, and using real-life experiences to engage students. I first joined SCIS-HIS in 2015 and am honored to be a part of the great Dragon community of learners and educators here in Shanghai!

Hola! Lisa here and I am thrilled to be a part of the SCIS family.  Originally born and raised in sunny Southern California, I received my Bachelor of Arts from San Francisco State University and my Master's in Education from San Diego State University. I taught in San Diego for eight years and get to call San Diego home. I have had the opportunity to teach a variety of grades, but kindergarten is my passion. Most recently I spent the last three years in South America teaching in Bogota, Colombia. During my free time I love to be outdoors, travel, hike, and explore new cultures. I’m looking forward to a great year of learning.

For as long as I can remember, I have had in me a bit of wanderlust and the desire to experience the world outside of the United States. When the time was right, I jumped at the chance, bringing my two boys with me to experience life overseas. After two years at Cairo American College, we now call Shanghai home. With fifteen years of teaching experience and a master’s degree in Curriculum Design and Instruction, I attempt at every turn to find better ways to use individual learning styles and technological advancements in my classroom to make students active participants in their learning. I attempt to turn students into active learners who discover, explore, and connect to learning more effectively. When I am not teaching or playing with my boys, I enjoy playing baseball, softball and golf. That is, of course, when I am not watching American football!
